Your Support Enables us to Furnish Homes

Circle of Hope volunteers standing together in a group

Thank you to the volunteers from Circle of Hope, and thank you to IKEA for their furniture donations!

Circle of Hope, a long time partner of Pathways to Housing PA, recently coordinated an opportunity for their Opioid Crisis Compassion Team to volunteer at the Philadelphia Furniture Bank. We are so grateful for these volunteers who spent their Saturday building and preparing furniture for our showroom floor. Our clients are in the process of transitioning out of crisis situations, and putting together furniture isn't always a priority. Volunteer groups who particpate in the team building activity of building furniture together relieve that burden, and that small act of kindness can make all the difference.

We also want to acknowledge the ongoing and generous furniture donations we regularly receive from IKEA. Since the Philadelphia Furniture Bank launched in late 2014, IKEA has been donated brand new items, like the Tyssedal dressers, that ultimately end up furnishing homes for our clients.

The Philadelphia Furniture Bank relies heavily on donations for our operations, especially as the demand for our services continues to increase. The number of homes furnished in our most recent fiscal year doubled from the previous year, for a total of 922 households furnished for 2,113 adults and children, and those numbers are holding steady going into this fiscal year.

The combination of volunteers sharing their time and expertise, and partners like IKEA giving bulk furniture donations, makes a world of difference. It's your continued support that helps people turn houses into homes. Thank you.
