LGBTQ+ Affirming Care and Harm Reduction — Making It Work in Philadelphia
May 3, 2021 - 3:00-4:45 PM EDT
Get first-hand insight from a team of Philadelphia-based, queer and trans-identified service providers who work in outpatient mental health care, inpatient substance use treatment, case management, supportive housing and community-based social support services. We’ll examine harm reduction and best practices for providing services to the LGBTQ+ community and share what an affirming approach and culture can look like for service providers to mitigate the harms of racism, homophobia and transphobia. This session is best suited for individuals with basic cultural competency in LGBTQ+ service provision.
