Pathways to Housing PA believes that housing is a basic human right. Since our start in 2008, we’ve used an evidence-based Housing First model that provides housing without preconditions and then addresses underlying issues around mental health, substance use, medical care, and education to welcome people back into the community.
Here are a few reasons why becoming a recurring donor can be a wonderful way to show your support for the work that we do here at Pathways to Housing PA.
1. Homelessness and Its Underlying Causes Matter to You
Our Housing First Heroes are compassionate individuals committed to making a lasting impact in the lives of the most vulnerable in our community. By choosing to become a Housing First Hero through a recurring monthly gift, you join us in building a sustainable future, ensuring vital funds are available year-round. We rely on support from foundations and individuals, like you, to continue providing services to our participants.
2. Recurring Gifts are Easy
One of the best things about recurring giving is that you can set it and forget it. Once you set up your recurring gift, there's no need to remember to give again. This convenience means you can consistently support an organization committed to ending homelessness without the hassle of manual donations. Plus, with automatic donations, you can feel confident you're making a steady impact in the fight against homelessness.
Recurring gifts can also be set up through donor-advised funds (DAFs) and employee giving programs at your desired frequency. They can also be matched by your employer, doubling your donated dollars.
3. A Little Goes a Long Way
Using our website, you can set up a recurring gift in any amount. Try replacing one cup of take-out coffee per month ($5) with a recurring donation. If you typically make an annual gift, consider breaking it down to a monthly amount and supporting us throughout the year. Unlike other subscription services, you can change the amount or cancel the gift at any time if your circumstances change. Over time, the amount you choose adds up to critical support for Pathways.
4. Your Gift Has Real Impact
Pathways to Housing PA currently serves over 600 participants throughout Philadelphia. Our expert staff amongst eight clinical teams provide wraparound services to participants with complex physical or behavioral health needs. When you set up a recurring gift, you’ll become part of our Housing First Heroes, a community of folks dedicated to ending homelessness. As a Housing First Hero, you’ll receive specialized updates about our programs, including our latest outcomes:
- 86% of our participants, who wouldn’t be considered “housing-ready" by other programs, have remained stably housed
- Over 90% of participants are seen onsite at our Integrated Care Clinic
- More than 135 participants are actively taking medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD).
- The Philadelphia Furniture Bank has furnished over 8,000 homes since 2014.
5. You Know Where Your Money Is Going
Your recurring donation will support Pathways in:
- Providing homes and comprehensive wrap-around services to folks experiencing chronic homelessness and complex health issues.
- Restoring health by providing low-barrier primary care services and medications.
- Reclaiming lives by promoting community inclusion and helping participants to be a part of the community and be valued for their uniqueness.
- Operating the Philadelphia Furniture Bank, an unduplicated furniture resource for social service agencies in Philadelphia.
