Thank you PHLCares!
Pathways to Housing PA is excited to announce that we are one of four Philadelphia-based organizations selected to receive funding from PHLCares. The PHLCares fund of The Philadelphia Foundation is a business-led initiative that has raised more than $1 million since 2019 in support of sustainable solutions for homelessness and providing the resources and services that individuals experiencing homelessness need. The PHLCares fund was created by some of the leading businesses in Philadelphia, including the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority, PREIT, and Wawa.
The funding from PHLCares will expand outreach, engagement, and connection to housing, the availability of harm reduction supplies, basic needs such as meals, housing, and case management services. The result will be reduced reliance on emergency room usage and people living in public spaces by connecting them with housing and services (City of Philadelphia).
As of 2022, we work with 550 formerly homeless individuals utilizing the Housing First model and harm reduction methods. Through our comprehensive services, we have maintained an 85% housing retention rate for participants after five years in the program. With the funding from PHLCares, we will be expanding our outreach services and working to house another 25 people who are currently experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia.
We are so appreciative of PHLCares and the opportunity to house more people through our Housing First program. To learn more about PHLCares, please visit their website here.
