Mom gets furniture for her family!

On a sunny June day, Yonnette came into the Philadelphia Furniture Bank. The Philadelphia Furniture Bank, a project of Pathways to Housing PA, provides furniture for individuals and families moving out of homelessness. Most clients that come into the furniture bank live in homes without couches, beds, tables, and even lights. Yonnette was one of thsoe individuals.

"Do you have any kids?" we asked.

"Yes, I have two boys, ages 9 and 10. I also have two twins on the way!" she said with glee.

"Wonderful. Do you have any furniture in your house?"

"No" she answered. "My boys have been sleeping on air mattresses." It is never easy to hear those words. However, Yonnette was in the perfect place for that to change!

When Yonnette left the furniture bank on June 22nd, she left with a smile on her face and a fresh start. Yonnette got to select beds, a table, chairs, a side table, couch, lamp, and even a beautiful frame to hold pictures of her soon-to-be twins!

The work of the Philadelphia Furniture Bank will never cease to amaze me. And congrats, Yonnette!
