Open Call for Artists - Furnished for Good 2025
Furnished for Good is Pathways to Housing PA's signature fundraising event.
It is a one-of-a-kind auction showcasing the creativity of local artists and designers who take inspiration from our event theme to create original works of art that will raise money for Pathways to Housing PA. The auction will conclude with a celebration event on Friday May 2, 2025 at NextFab North Philly. More details forthcoming.
Chosen artists will take inspiration from this year's theme, Safe and Sound. There are a few different ways to participate this year!
We welcome artists of all mediums, styles, and skill levels to apply.
About the Theme: Safe and Sound
Pathways provides homes for individuals who have experienced homelessness for years, sometimes even decades. Living unsheltered can feel incredibly unsafe, and our participants often take time to adjust to having a door with a lock and a safe place to live. We invite our participating artists to reflect on the feelings of safety and security as they develop their pieces for this year’s auction to help reflect the experiences of our participants.
There are a few different ways to participate this year:
- Furniture Upcycling: Refurbish or upcycle a piece from the Philadelphia Furniture Bank inspired by 'Safe and Sound'
- Original Artwork: Create a new piece in any medium inspired by 'Safe and Sound'.
- Wearable Art: Design wearable art influenced by 'Safe and Sound'.
- Existing Artwork Donation: Donate a piece of existing artwork to the auction.
- Art Print Donation: Donate signed prints to generate donations to help us reach our fundraising goal at the event.
- Live Art Creation: Create art live during the Furnished for Good event inspired by 'Safe and Sound'.
Applications will be reviewed and artists will be selected by our Furnished for Good guest curators, Damon Reaves and Lawren Alice. The open call closes on September 30, 2024.

- October 18: Artists Notified of Selection
- November 8: Artist Agreements Due
- Week of November 11th: Artists (who want to refurbish a piece from PFB) Visit PFB to Select Their Piece
2025
- January 10: Project Proposals/Sketches Due
- January 15: Meet & Greet for Artists (optional)
- February 7: Completed Art Pieces Due
- February through May: Art Pieces Promoted leading up to Furnished for Good
- Friday, May 2: Furnished for Good Event at NextFAB North Philly
