As the only nonprofit junk hauler in the Philadelphia region, Good Haul prides itself on sustainability and community support. We donate all reusable items to our community partners, like the Philadelphia Furniture Bank, and recycle anything we can, ensuring a minimal amount ends up in the trash. In addition, all revenue from Good Haul pickups is directly reinvested into efforts to end homelessness in Philadelphia. We serve residential and business clients and are thrilled to have various corporate teammates partner with us to refer clients to Good Haul or use our services themselves.

Kat Robbins Interiors is the Corporate Teammate we’re highlighting this month! Kat Robbins Interiors is an award-winning interior design firm servicing the Main Line, Greater Philadelphia Area, and Jersey Shore. Last week, they answered a few questions about their company and why they chose to partner with Good Haul versus other junk haulers. Continue reading more from our short interview below:

1. Can you tell us a bit about Kat Robbins Interiors and its mission/vision?

We are an award-winning interior design firm servicing the Main Line, Greater Philadelphia Area, Lehigh Valley, and the Jersey Shore. We create design visions for clients using high-quality, unique furnishings and window coverings, as well as new construction finish selection and full-scale renovations.

Every home or office has a story-- what does the family or company value and represent?  Our goal is to tell that story through interior design.  We work collaboratively with clients; this is an intimate process, and we want our clients to look around and see themselves reflected in everything we have designed for them.
Wherever we can, we focus on sustainability and working with local craftsmen. Our team is not just us but a cohort of skilled trade professionals, artists, and sales professionals. We bring our 18 years of experience and the trusted relationships we've built over those years.

Our ultimate goal is to provide clients with inspired spaces that will make them feel good.  We've all walked into spaces that don't feel good, but we can put our finger on why.  Conversely, who hasn't stepped inside a building and looked around in awe?  That feeling of being inspired, comfortable, and proud--it's invaluable, and that's what we want for our clients.

2. What motivated your company to partner with Good Haul?

Sustainability is very important to us! We always prioritize keeping as much as possible from going to landfills. We often have clients ask for solutions for the furniture or kitchen appliances we are replacing in the design. Good Haul has been a valued partner in helping the planet and our clients.

3. Can you tell us how your company and Good Haul collaborate?

When we start a renovation, we urge the client to allow us to recycle all items they no longer have use for. Our latest project was a large kitchen renovation. We were able to donate everything from the appliances to the cabinets and countertops. Once demo begins, we carefully remove all items and then reach out to Good Haul to schedule a pick up. Good Haul comes with a truck and loads everything. They make the whole process very easy!

4. How does Good Haul play into your company’s sustainability and environmental responsibility goals?

Recycling materials from our clients' homes to use to support and furnish the homes of those in need is a win-win all around. Most of what is in landfills in this country comes from the construction industry, and we want to keep as much as we can out of them. To be able to give back while maintaining a small carbon footprint is so important to us.

5. In your opinion, what sets Good Haul apart from organizations doing similar work?

Good Haul is the only non-profit recycling organization in the area that we know of. We believe in Good Haul's mission, and our values are aligned. Good Haul has great pricing for pick-ups, and we love that they will take everything, saving us time from having to work with multiple organizations.

6. If you had to summarize your experience working with Good Haul in a few sentences, what would you say?

Working with Good Haul has always been an easy and seamless process. They are always quick with their correspondence as well as pick ups. We could not ask for a better company to work with!
