FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Philadelphia Furniture Bank celebrates Grand Opening to provide free furniture for Philly’s formerly homeless families.

In honor of National Homelessness and Hunger Week, November 15-24, West Philly Orchestra performed a benefit concert for Pathways to Housing PA. Proceeds from the concert helped chronically homeless individuals battling severe mental illness in Philadelphia receive safe homes and the treatment needed to recover and thrive.

In honor of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, a friend of Pathways to Housing PA is "sleeping outside" to help our area's homeless children. Wil Reynolds, founder of SEER Interactive, a Philadelphia-based SEO firm and a board member of Convenant House will be particpating in a "Sleep Out" on November 20th.

Wil graciously took some time to talk with us about his sleep out.

On Monday November 10th, four Pathways to Housing PA participants showed their creative works in the First Community Behavioral Health Art Show entitled The Art of Recovery. Our participants' works displayed with dozens of other artists' works ranging from paintings, poetry, drawings, and even some works presented on video. During the ceremony, one participant James read a portion of his poem, "Ebony Moon" (see below). He then thanked the audience of at least 100 people and further stressed how amazing it was to be included among the works.

Dear Friends…

This November 11th we will pause and celebrate Veterans Day, and I just wanted to take a moment to really remember why.

25 million American veterans live among us today. We count more than 160 of our program participants among them. Each selflessly set aside his or her civilian life to protect ours.
